Hey {{ Name | there }}!

Summer isn't going anywhere just yet, and New York is not letting you forget it.

This week is a little different. Yes, there are amazing dance floors — there are always amazing dance floors. But there are also some genuinely delightful options that are a little left of center, and honestly? Those might be the ones you remember.

Tuesday, JOYR!DE at Loafers brings KwéyòlKiDz to the cocktail bar. A British-born percussionist who toured with Amy Winehouse and Kanye West, distilled into four intimate hours. Also Tuesday, there is a queer wellness evening at La Plaza Cultural — sauna, breathwork, and a live sound journey in an East Village community garden. Not a dance floor. Absolutely a vibe.

Wednesday, The Illustrious Blacks are doing a silent disco at Lincoln Center. Free. Outside. With aerialists, live singers, and theatrical costumes as a preview for their new club musical. You could be at home watching something mediocre, or you could be at Lincoln Center watching this. The choice is yours and it says a lot about you.

Thursday brings the full spread. ON TOP at Le Bain. ROMANCE at Gabriela, Eli's away but Andi is holding it down, which means good trouble. Thursdays are Casual at Unveiled. And if you want to do something a little unexpected, there is queer line dancing and two-stepping at Xanadu with Stud Country. Lessons start at 8pm. No excuses.

It's a magical thing called “summer in NY.” Act like it.

JOYR!DE: KwéyòlKiDz @ Loafers Cocktail Bar, on Tue, 28 Jul, 19:00–23:00

KwéyòlKiDz is Joy Joseph, a British-born percussionist, drummer, and live musician who toured with Amy Winehouse and Kanye West before stepping behind the decks. Her sets celebrate Afro-Caribbean sound, world beats, and a lifetime of genre-crossing stage experience distilled into four intimate hours at Loafers.
