Hey {{ Name | there }}!
Don't let the quiet fool you. The calm before Halloween is when the city shows you its real face, no mask required.
And honestly, a little calm is exactly what you need right now.
Next week, New York flexes its Halloween muscle. This week, it reminds you why you live here.
Wednesday, DANCE DANCE DANCE takes over Le Bain with DJ Moma, Eli Escobar and Zaidan. Midweek is the sweet spot for that room: one tiny elevator ride up and you're in a little slice of joy in the sky, the whole city sprawled out around you.
Thursday, PAT lands at Union Pool. JD Samson and Amber Valentine's long-running queer party is a true New York institution, and Justin Strauss joins Amber on the decks.
It's the exact energy you want before the chaos hits. Warm, joyful, everyone welcome.
No costumes, no character work.
Just the music, the people around you and the version of you that shows up unapologetically authentic.

Pick of the Week

Cozy Room #3 – Paolo Mosca, Cecilio @ Reforesters Laboratory, on Sun, 25 Oct, 6pm–10pm
Downtempo records that rarely make it into club sets, played through a 24.2-channel spatial audio system that moves sound around the room and puts the low end right in your chest. Half listening session, half living room, it's a slow, generous wind-down where you can sway, settle in or just let your mind wander.
Tuesday October 20th

Open Decks – STEEN, Crescent @ SILO, on Tue, 20 Oct, 7pm–2am
House and techno open decks on a custom 15,000-watt Danley rig, with local selectors taking short turns so you never know what's coming next. A low-key school night hang that doubles as a sneak preview of the city's next wave of DJs.

VAMPYROS LESBOS SCREENING – Nick Boyd b2b benny sun @ Pianos, on Tue, 20 Oct, 7pm–late
A screening of the cult 1971 erotic horror film, followed by a house and disco b2b that picks up right where its trippy, psychedelic soundtrack leaves off. Lower East Side camp for anyone who likes their nights a little strange and a lot sexy.

Off The Record: Tuesday Sessions – Luchini, Valentin @ Public Arts, on Tue, 20 Oct, 11pm–4am
House and electronica inside the Public Hotel, starting late and built for the crowd that treats a weeknight like a weekend. Polished, dark and seductive, the kind of room where 2am arrives way too fast.

JOYR!DE – Eric Umble @ Loafers Cocktail Bar, on Tue, 20 Oct, 7pm–11pm
Chicago and New York house with a hint of techno, dialed way down for an intimate queer cocktail bar that feels like a friend's living room. Think drinks, good conversation and a seriously great DJ playing a laid-back set just for the room, the kind of night where you come for one and stay for three.

Tok.io, Swimmie @ Animal, on Tue, 20 Oct, 8pm–2am
Breaks, electro and trance-tinged rave cuts at East Williamsburg's favorite queer bar, playful and a little unhinged in the best way. Expect a sweaty bar-floor dance party that keeps swerving just when you think you've figured it out.
🔔 Never Miss a Last-Minute Drop 🔔
NYC club culture runs on its own timeline — which means some of the best events only surface 24 hours before they happen, buried in someone's Instagram stories with an RSVP link that disappears in ten minutes.
I catch as much as I can for the newsletter, but when something drops late, Instagram is where I post it first.

Wednesday October 21st

DANCE DANCE DANCE – DJ Moma, Eli Escobar, Zaidan @ Le Bain, on Wed, 21 Oct, 10pm–4am
Disco and house at the top of the Standard, with Manhattan glittering through the windows and selectors who know exactly how to get a midweek crowd losing it. Glamorous without trying too hard, and very hard to leave before close.

LUSH – Joopiter, Stevo Blaque, Indigo Heaven @ Jupiter Disco, on Wed, 21 Oct, 7pm–2am
Diva house all night, from gospel-tinged vocals and euphoric piano stabs to the club mixes that turned pop anthems into something deeper. Picture a whole room belting along with hands in the air, inner divas fully unlocked.

Out The Bag – Choukroun b2b Monk @ Outer Heaven, on Wed, 21 Oct, 8pm–3am
All-vinyl house and techno, with two residents trading records all night in one of the city's best-sounding rooms. A proper diggers' night where the b2b gets looser and deeper the later it goes.

Italo Kiss – Justin Denaro @ Danger Danger, on Wed, 21 Oct, 9:30pm–2am
Italo disco and Euro electronica on an audiophile system, all shimmering synths and arpeggios under parrot chandeliers on a zebra-print floor. Retro, kitschy and completely sincere, like a midweek trip to an Adriatic beach club circa 1984.

Chess.irl x Stop1 – Amelia Holt, SOFIYA V, Kettle, Rila, Iggy Nuclear, Conduit @ Honey's, on Wed, 21 Oct, 7pm–1am
Chessboards and a dance floor share the room, with house and ambient soundtracking every opening gambit before the night tips into full movement. Nerdy, flirty and wonderfully low-stakes, it's the rare night where losing your queen still ends with you dancing.

Community Hole – Vesolo, Newagetension, Swimmie, Subcultures, Brutal Twink @ Bossa Nova Civic Club, on Wed, 21 Oct, 10pm–4am
Breaks, electro and Miami bass with detours into trance, EBM and devilish dub, a gleefully chaotic birthday party under Bossa's red lights. Bass-heavy and proudly weird, the sort of night you leave drenched and grinning.
Thursday October 22nd

PAT – Amber Valentine, Justin Strauss, Tylerkinesis, Blue Mena, Hope 808 @ Union Pool, on Thu, 22 Oct, 9pm–2am
JD Samson and Amber Valentine's long-running queer party, a Union Pool institution where disco, house and new wave share the floor and everyone is welcome wearing anything and loving whoever they want. Warm, scrappy and joyous, a proper community dance party that never takes itself too seriously.

ROMANCE – Eli Escobar @ Gabriela, on Thu, 22 Oct, 10pm–3am
Sad bangers, big-hearted pop and electro, built for the kind of dancing where you sing every word with your eyes closed. Tears are encouraged, and somehow it's still one of the most joyful rooms in the city.

Joiah Invites – Alex Neri b2b Paolo Mosca, Cecilio, Joiah @ Signal, on Thu, 22 Oct, 10pm–4am
Deep, cosmic and timeless house, moving through warm textures and slow-burning grooves on one of Brooklyn's serious sound systems. A grown-up house night with zero gimmicks, just a long, hypnotic ride into the early hours.

Dance NYC: New Yorkers For Dance – Ali Coleman, Home & Abroad BK Drumming Group, Ishita Mili, Mai Lê Hô @ 26 Bridge, on Thu, 22 Oct, 6pm–late
Dance floor classics from a selector who has shaped NYC club culture since the disco era, woven with live Afrocentric drumming, Bharatanatyam-meets-hip-hop choreography and street and club dance. More a celebration of the city's dance community than a straight party, and a reminder of why moving together matters.

Footsteps – Blvck Truffle, N.B Rhythm, Majii @ Jupiter Disco, on Thu, 22 Oct, 10pm–2am
Deep house and minimal grooves for dancers and deep listeners, high-octane enough to keep your feet flowing and subtle enough to reward close attention. A dancer's night through and through, where the floor talks back to the booth.

Rasaaq, Hugo @ feedbk, on Thu, 22 Oct, 7pm–4am
House and minimal techno in an intimate, audiophile-minded room, rolling and hypnotic from early evening into deep night. Vivid sound, a casual crowd and the kind of slow-building groove that makes leaving feel like a mistake.

DJ Ultra Violet, La Máquina Del Tiempo @ Dead Letter No. 9, on Thu, 22 Oct, 8pm–2am
House, disco and dembow with a vinyl detour into salsa, merengue and Spanish classics, one of the last big nights before the venue closes for good. Sweaty and euphoric, made for singing along with your people when your favorite record drops.

SUBLIMINA – Will Jack, MOLTØNY, SYTHRA @ H0L0, on Thu, 22 Oct, 9pm–4am
Raw, deep, hypnotic techno from a queer collective, atmospheric, tribal and often psychedelic. Less a rave than a moving meditation, where the repetition does the work and you come out the other side lighter.
Save the costume for next week.
Come exactly as you are this one.
See you on the floor 🪩
