Hey {{ Name | there }}!

I'm not usually this bossy, but this week I'm telling you exactly where to go.

Thursday, October 8, Hearts & Diamonds takes over Public Records with Midnight Magic playing cosmic disco as a full live band.

They've been at this for a hot minute, and their new single "Zeus" is a fucking banger. It's only been out a couple of months and I'm already calling it my song of 2026.

I heard it once and needed more. I sent it to DJ friends, they wrote back "what is this?", and now they're playing it out.

Midnight Magic are scene veterans with a record this good, in a room whose programming is impeccable. What else are you doing Thursday?

Not your thing? Totally fine. Octo Octa & Faited are at Nowadays the same night, and The Disco Express rolls into Jean's.

There's plenty more on the list, and all of it is worth your time. But if I could only pick one dance floor this week, that's the one.

Tuesday October 6th

The Detroit Connection – DykeChow, 4AM NYC, A lana @ Bossa Nova Civic Club, on Tue, 6 Oct, 10pm–4am

Acid house, electro and synthpop with a punk streak, sliding into garage house and disco pulled from a seriously deep record collection. It's a small dark room trading Motor City nerve for New York sweat, and nobody's standing still.

Open Decks – STEEN @ SILO, on Tue, 6 Oct, 7pm–2am

House and techno from whoever puts their name down, twelve minutes at a time, on a 15,000-watt front room system. Half the fun is not knowing who's next, and the other half is hearing somebody's secret weapon played that loud.

The Faggots Fête – Juliana Huxtable, Soo Intoit, DJPT @ Sugar Hill Disco, on Tue, 6 Oct, 10pm–2am

Techno and house played like a collage: unruly, maximal, and a little confrontational in the best way. It's a book press throwing an afterparty for a 50-year-old queer classic, so expect the smartest, trashiest dance floor of the week.

Off The Record – LUCHINI, GAN @ Public Arts, on Tue, 6 Oct, 11pm–4am

House with an electronic edge inside a downtown hotel, from a weekly that keeps late hours while the rest of the city is asleep. Polished room, proper sound, and a crowd that treats a school night as optional.

P_A_T @ Animal, on Tue, 6 Oct, 8pm–2am

Pop hits, B-sides and deep cuts folded into house and techno, the kind of set where you scream a chorus and then get properly lost in a groove. Easy, sweaty, zero-pretension fun in a room that's happy to see you.

🔔 Never Miss a Last-Minute Drop 🔔

NYC club culture runs on its own timeline — which means some of the best events only surface 24 hours before they happen, buried in someone's Instagram stories with an RSVP link that disappears in ten minutes.

I catch as much as I can for the newsletter, but when something drops late, Instagram is where I post it first.

Wednesday October 7th

Outer Heaven presents – Pablo Romero @ Outer Heaven, on Wed, 7 Oct, 8pm–4am

House on vinyl, all night, from one pair of hands with eight hours to stretch out. Expect the slow build, the deep detours, and the patience you only get when nobody's waiting for their turn.

EARTHTONES – Pedestrian Access, Frank Garret, Jake Korolev + Mago, Lulannie @ Jupiter Disco, on Wed, 7 Oct, 7pm–2am

Soulful percussion, leftfield electronics and global rhythms, warm and grounded with plenty of deep cuts. It's a settle-in, zone-out kind of dance floor that loosens you up before you notice.

PLAY THAT EDIT – Petal, jo_sway, limesqueezi, benny sun @ Mood Ring, on Wed, 7 Oct, 10pm–2am

A night built on edits: familiar songs reworked for the dance floor and passed between four selectors. Loose, low-stakes and a little silly, in a neighborhood bar that turns into a proper dance floor after dark.

RUSH presents – KETTAMA, Loods, Willo @ Knockdown Center, on Wed, 7 Oct, 8pm–1am

Speed garage, hard house and tech house with an old-school rave heart: driving drums, rolling basslines and big euphoric synths. This is hands-up, grinning-at-strangers energy in a huge warehouse room.

Elle Dee b2b KYRUH, LORD ASA @ Bossa Nova Civic Club, on Wed, 7 Oct, 10pm–4am

Hard, gritty techno with real flow, the fast and sweaty kind that locks a small room in. Dark, loud and close, and nobody's checking the time.

Thursday October 8th

Hearts & Diamonds – Midnight Magic, Three of Hearts @ Public Records, on Thu, 8 Oct, 8pm–2am

Cosmic disco played by a full live band with a powerhouse vocalist out front, plus a trio of selectors keeping the room moving around them. It's glitter-ball music in a room with serious sound, and it's impossible to stand still to.

Octo Octa & Faited, Eva Loveless @ Nowadays, on Thu, 8 Oct, 9pm–3am

Drum and bass and raucous, heady breakbeats, pulled from the deepest, dustiest crates by two people who build sound systems for fun. Fast, joyful and a little cosmic, it's the dance floor as a full-body workout.

The Disco Express – Bustin' Loose, Roland & Brother Rich @ Jean's, on Thu, 8 Oct, 10pm–4am

Uplifting house, modern disco, funk and soul, with deep cuts and unreleased label exclusives all night long. Positive, hands-in-the-air music in an intimate downtown room, for people who like their dance floor smiling.

ROMANCE – Eli Escobar @ Gabriela, on Thu, 8 Oct, 9pm–3am

Electro and pop with big emotions and sad bangers, at a party that insists pop isn't a dirty word. Crying on the dance floor is encouraged, and you'll probably be singing while you do it.

Derek Russo @ Moondog Hifi, on Thu, 8 Oct, 7pm–2am

Soulful grooves, disco, house and funk with a few unexpected turns, deep and eclectic without getting precious about it. It's a dig-a-little-deeper night that lets the music take its time and never loses the pulse.

feedbk x risk reward – B.Love, Daniel Dutts @ feedbk, on Thu, 8 Oct, 10pm–4am

Funky, fruity tech house and house on the roof, with two label heads showing off what their imprint sounds like. Bouncy, bright and unserious in the right way, for anyone starting the weekend a night early.

CONCRETE JUNGLE #2 – Honey Bun, shekdash, Yesterdayneverhappened, Ayanna Heaven, XXHARDBIT3S @ Bossa Nova Civic Club, on Thu, 8 Oct, 10pm–4am

Jungle, start to finish: breakbeats at full tilt and bass you feel in your ribs, from five selectors who live for it. A weeknight party for the heads, in a small room where the whole floor moves as one.

Lewis OfMan Live @ Rough Trade Below, on Thu, 8 Oct, 6pm–late

Playful electro-pop with punk energy: synths, live drums, guitar and breakbeats that keep the grooves and melodies rolling. It's a live set inside a record shop, a rare chance to dance before dinner.

PluggedIN – BbbBbBB, Day Cart, HumanbIAN @ Jupiter Disco, on Thu, 8 Oct, 7pm–2am

Warm, rhythmic disco, house and techno from three selectors who keep things moving without overthinking it. Easy to walk into, hard to leave, and a good argument for staying out as the nights get colder.

Doss & Friends – Doss @ Paragon, on Thu, 8 Oct, 10pm–3am

Electro house and trance with flashes of hard techno and a bright hyperpop streak, fast, shiny and a little unhinged. The guests stay secret until they're in the booth, which makes this a show-up-and-find-out kind of night.

Go for the song of the year.
Stay for the whole band.

See you on the floor 🪩
