Hey {{ Name | there }}!
Some people cope with election night by stress-baking. I'd like to propose roller skates and a disco ball.
Let's be real: election nights are a lot. Sometimes the healthiest thing you can do is go out and dance.
Thank God for Xanadu. Rolling for Democracy on Tuesday puts the results on screens around the rink, so you can keep tabs on the country while you go around in circles to 90s hip hop, house and soul.
However it shakes out, you'll need a breather afterwards. The rest of the week has you covered.
On Wednesday, Kilopatrah Jones leads Fahrenheit° at Bossa Nova Civic Club, with seductive basslines and clap drums in a dark, packed room.
Then on Thursday, let's talk about a living legend: Mousse T. at Public Records. As a selector and a reader of rooms, he's nonpareil.
I once watched him step up after someone had been going way too hard for way too long. He matched the energy, and within a song or two the whole crowd had tipped into pure joy.
If you've never seen him play, Thursday is your night.
The rest is all over the map. From Dirty Magazine's Lingerie Skate, a lingerie party on wheels, to UK garage, breaks and dubstep at futago, this week goes everywhere.
Blue wave, blue tsunami, blue puddle: whatever happens, it's over by Wednesday. Then you can get back to the very important business of letting it all go.
Win or lose, you still need to take care of yourself. Sometimes that means getting lost in the music, unapologetically, with a room full of people who get it.
Twenty handpicked ways to blow off steam are just below.
Let’s Have an Honest Conversation About Breasts

Breasts are among the most talked about and medically researched parts of the human body, yet many of us are embarrassed to discuss our breast health openly.
Allure Perspectives, a new podcast hosted by Allure editor-in-chief Jessica Cruel, spends its first season exploring how breasts intersect with beauty, health, identity, sexuality, and culture. Episodes feature Olivia Munn on the test she says to take even if your mammogram is clear, sex educator Ericka Hart on reclaiming her body after breast cancer, and a Beverly Hills surgeon on why GLP-1s are driving a surge in breast lifts. All episodes available now.
Tuesday November 3rd

Rolling for Democracy: Election Day Viewing Party – Misbehaviour, Varunisme, Silent H, Serrian @ Xanadu, on Tue, 3 Nov, 7pm–late
90s hip hop, house and soul on the roller rink, with TVs on every wall tracking the results as they come in. Skating in circles while the country decides might be the healthiest way to watch an election.

Off The Record: Tuesday Sessions @ Public Arts, on Tue, 3 Nov, 11pm–4am
House and electronica in a sleek downtown hotel club, teamed up with the long-running Tuesday Baby Tuesday weekly. Proof that the city's grown-up dance floors never wait for the weekend.

Open Decks – STEEN, VRSNØNE @ SILO, on Tue, 3 Nov, 7pm–2am
House and techno on a serious front-room sound system, with a rotating cast of local DJs jumping on for short sets all night. Half hangout, half talent show, and the next great track might come from the person next to you at the bar.

Terroir – Korrē, Niyah West, Daystar, antron @ Bossa Nova Civic Club, on Tue, 3 Nov, 10pm–4am
Techno and house from a small label crew celebrating a fresh record, with a couple of the city's sharpest selectors joining in. Bossa's red-lit room on a school night is its own kind of magic: close, sweaty and in no hurry to wind down.

JOYR!DE – Sindri @ Loafers Cocktail Bar, on Tue, 3 Nov, 7pm–11pm
House and Italo with a dark streak of cold wave, played all night at a weekly queer kiki that feels like your favorite house party moved into a cocktail bar. Easy to wander in for one drink and end up dancing until close.
🔔 Never Miss a Last-Minute Drop 🔔
NYC club culture runs on its own timeline — which means some of the best events only surface 24 hours before they happen, buried in someone's Instagram stories with an RSVP link that disappears in ten minutes.
I catch as much as I can for the newsletter, but when something drops late, Instagram is where I post it first.

Wednesday November 4th

Fahrenheit° – Kilopatrah Jones, Huamaniser, LISAS, LATINO DRIVE @ Bossa Nova Civic Club, on Wed, 4 Nov, 10pm–4am
Seductive, bassline-heavy house that builds into peak-time techno laced with Latin funk. Hypnotic clap drums, a packed dark room and a midweek night that forgets what time it is.

Mike Trotter @ Animal, on Wed, 4 Nov, 10pm–4am
Rolling basslines, deep Afro grooves and disco-tinged house at a queer neighborhood bar with no cover. Low-key, a little risqué, and exactly the kind of spot where one drink turns into last call.

Beats without Borders – Madre Guía, PunkyReggaeShawty, Ianko, Kweku @ Mood Ring, on Wed, 4 Nov, 10pm–2am
Afro house and Afro tech on a night devoted to Black sound from across the diaspora, polyrhythmic and deeply felt. The small, glowing room makes it feel closer to a ceremony than a club night.

futago – chioske b2b DJ eh, Gigi Rio b2b amita @ Jupiter Disco, on Wed, 4 Nov, 7pm–2am
UK garage, breaks, dubstep and jungle: a full tour of the UK dance music continuum, heavy on bass and nostalgia. Two b2b pairings keep it playful and unpredictable, like a pirate radio broadcast you can actually dance inside.

VHS Happy Hour: Tristan and Friends – TRISTAN, raey, Nolu @ Bossa Nova Civic Club, on Wed, 4 Nov, 7pm–10pm
Ghetto tech and East Coast club sounds packed into a three-hour happy hour. Fast, bouncy and ridiculous in the best way, and you might even be home at a reasonable hour.
Thursday November 5th

Mousse T. @ Public Records, on Thu, 5 Nov, 10:30pm–2:30am
House laced with funk, soul, disco and jazz, the joyful, hands-in-the-air end of dance music. Big warm grooves on one of the best sound systems in the city, with a few records the whole room will sing along to.

The Disco Express x Jean's – Roland & Brother Rich @ Jean's, on Thu, 5 Nov, 10pm–4am
Uplifting house, modern disco, funk and soul all night long, with deep cuts and unreleased edits from a label built on 1970s New York dance floors. An intimate downtown room and the kind of record-nerd selections that have you asking what's playing every ten minutes.

Lounge Sessions – Anthony Romano, Jay Vic, John Michael Di Spirito, Raven Savere @ SILO, on Thu, 5 Nov, 10pm–late
House and tech house from a crew of nightlife veterans trading records in one big rotating b2b. It feels like an industry night thrown open to everyone: loose, friendly and built for dancing.

Nervous Records Speakeasy – Cosmo, Mike Nervous @ Shinsen, on Thu, 5 Nov, 9pm–2am
Classic New York house from one of the city's most storied labels, popping up in a Bowery sushi spot. Sushi, cocktails and deep, soulful grooves make it feel like a secret dinner party slowly losing its composure.

Entangled Opening Night – Niyah West, DJ Queer Shoulders, BLKshine, Ginger Ail @ Qncc, on Thu, 5 Nov, 7pm–12am
DJ sets and live performances kick off a festival celebrating queer and disabled artists, organizers and community. Part dance party, part family reunion, with plenty of room to connect between songs.

Synthicide – Tyrel Williams, Fugitive Artifact, Andi @ Bossa Nova Civic Club, on Thu, 5 Nov, 10pm–4am
Acid and EBM for the heads, dark and driving from the first record to the last. Squelching basslines and hard, industrial-edged rhythms in a dim room full of people who came for exactly this.

Ardio presents – Ardio Zemog, Yurk @ Jupiter Disco, on Thu, 5 Nov, 10pm–2am
Deep, Latin-rooted New York house, all deep cuts and unreleased joints, played with real reverence for the producers behind them. One of the best-sounding rooms in the city, made for heads who dance with their eyes closed.

Who Let the Chu Out? – Chuwee, Tobias @ Moondog Hifi, on Thu, 5 Nov, 8pm–2am
Deep house, swinging grooves and left-field selections, mostly on vinyl, in a cozy hi-fi bar. Order a cocktail, find your spot and let it drift from warm and hypnotic to properly dancey.

Happy Hour: Sex Over Thirty – Sex Over Thirty, Ah Dek, DJ girlcrush, Kristen London @ Bossa Nova Civic Club, on Thu, 5 Nov, 7pm–10pm
House and club cuts thrown back and forth in a chaotic, everyone-on-the-decks happy hour. Early, rowdy and over by ten, which somehow makes it hit harder.

Dirty Magazine's Lingerie Skate – DADA COZMIC, Quetamine, Donatella LeRoc, Valley Latini @ Xanadu, on Thu, 5 Nov, 6pm–12am
Electronic, indie, alt and pop on the roller rink, with dancers, live entertainment and a photo booth from the city's radical smut mag. Wear as little as you dare and skate like nobody's judging, because here nobody is.
Vote.
Breathe.
Dance it out.
See you on the floor 🪩
