Hey {{ Name | there }}!

The city gets quieter as a holiday weekend approaches. That's not a downgrade. That's an invitation.

If you're feeling weird about America right now, that's completely appropriate.

But this week is also a chance to celebrate something else.

Your independence.

Your freedom to be who you are, love who you want, live how you want.

Nobody can legislate that away on a dance floor.

If you want to see a dance music master who rarely makes it to New York, Todd Terje plays Refuge on Thursday. Two decades of Norwegian disco, warm and melodic, on one of the city's best sound systems.

If you want something that would make every MAGA squirm, Tranimal at Animal on Tuesday is free, loose, and a little unhinged in the best way.

And if you just want to lose yourself in the music, no further explanation needed, the High and Mighty Brass Band brings live, brass-heavy chaos to Sleepwalk on Tuesday.

So many ways to celebrate this week. Dive into the list and find the one that's yours.
