Hey {{ Name | there }}!

It's mid-August, which means a lot of the bigger New York names are somewhere in Europe right now, playing to festival crowds in fields.

That's not a bad thing. That's actually an opportunity.

This week, the dance floors belong to a new wave of talent — selectors who are building something, whose sound is genuinely their own, and who are playing rooms right now that they simply won't be playing in a few years. You get to hear them before anyone else does, in spaces small enough that you can actually feel what they're doing.

Tuesday, SILO's Open Decks goes producer-focused — bring your original tracks and test them on a club system. The kind of Tuesday where you might hear something that ends up on a record label next year. And Joe Delon and Jay Duncan at Animal bring deep disco, dubwise hypnosis, and 90s tribal house shaped by queer underground scenes across Lisbon, Berlin, and South London.

Wednesday, Technical Difficulties at H0L0 pairs video artists with electronic musicians for a night of live experimentation where nothing is fixed and everything is tested in real time. First edition. Worth being there for.

Thursday is stacked with fresh perspectives. Titonton Duvanté plays a live set at Good Room — a Detroit house legend, but the room is intimate enough that you'll feel every note. Program Audio brings six selectors from the West Coast underground to H0L0 for a full Brooklyn takeover. And BARANGAY returns to Dead Letter for BAHAY KUBO III, transforming the floor into a gathering place rooted in Filipino concepts of home and community.

Ahead of the curve looks like this week.

🔔 Never Miss a Last-Minute Drop 🔔

NYC club culture runs on its own timeline — which means some of the best events only surface 24 hours before they happen, buried in someone's Instagram stories with an RSVP link that disappears in ten minutes.

I catch as much as I can for the newsletter, but when something drops late, Instagram is where I post it first.
