Charlene holds Animal for a free night — fourteen years as a trans-feminine DJ and performance artist, a Brooklyn institution in the most literal sense. And if you want something completely different, Sugar, We're Hoein Down at 3 Dollar Bill is queer line dancing to emo, alt, and pop-punk bangers. Beginner lessons included.
Wednesday brings roller skating at Xanadu, a free outdoor block party at Lincoln Center, and house music at MAD Radio starting in the afternoon for people who know Wednesday doesn't have to wait.

Charlene is a Brooklyn institution — fourteen years as a trans-feminine DJ, writer, performance artist, and host in NYC nightlife, a seminal figure who has performed at Wigstock 2.0, the Brooklyn Museum, and the Public Theater and collaborated with Susanne Bartsch, LadyFag, and The Carry Nation.
